EGSCF HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE 2012

ADOPT A ?CHILD IN FOSTER CARE? CAMPAIGN

It?s Toy Time 2012! Most children and adolescents residing in foster care or receiving preventive care, including the Services Training Education Prevention Self-help (STEPS) Program are victims of some form of child abuse or abandonment. The EGSCF Annual Toy Drive, which takes place from November through mid-December (Thursday, November 1st through Monday, December 17^th), helps to put a smile on a child?s face every Holiday Season.

During this time of year, we collaborate with individual and corporate donors who share the vision to ensure that all children and adolescents in our care receive the special gift that they have been wishing for throughout the year. If you have toys, gift cards, or your organization would like to plan a mini-toy drive on behalf of EGSCF please contact Heather Thompson, Communication Information Resource Specialist, at (212) 437-3568 or Hthompson@egscf.org for further details. Your contributions of toys, gift cards, or monetary donations are most appreciated!

We would like to encourage your students to participate in our Holiday Season ?Adopt a Child in Foster Care? campaign from Thursday, November 1st to Friday, December 14^th.

Each Educator that agrees to garner class or school participation for the ?Adopt a Child in Foster Care? campaign will be entitled to receive an EGSCF Presentation delivered by one of our knowledgeable representatives regarding the programs and services our Agency provides to children, families, and adolescents in New York City, at any time during the current school year. This is a great opportunity for your students to learn about how children and adolescents in foster care, and families receiving services, are supported. This experience will also allow them to be more civic-minded and involved with the ?Community of Care? at EGSCF.

Each student that donates a toy or gift card to the campaign will receive a framed EGSCF Certificate of Participation, with glass encasing. *Most schools? agree to provide a one-hour community service school credit to students that have participated in this campaign.
