Inside, a marathon of stories from the history of the Games have been infused with snapshots of the many sports clubs and groups around the Nottinghamshire town in a display opened by John Whetton, a local Olympian who competed at the Tokyo and Mexico City Olympics in 1964 and 1968, finishing 5th in the 1,500-metre final in Mexico.

Equipment, kit, trophies, photos and news cuttings all feature, backed by a line-up of physical demonstrations, international food tasting and craft sessions between now and the end of September.

  • Open 10am-5pm (closed Sunday). Admission free.
